Is it better to hardwire a EV home charging station?

 I get this question a lot when a customer is deciding on how they want to set up their home charging station. 

The two options are to run power and install a Nema 14-50 outlet that you can plug EV charging station into. Or running power directly from the panel into the charging station itself.
